It's sad that she endured so much under the patriarchal system and this was her form of rebellion against the oppressive system. Makes you question if this was a form of liberation, madness or self distraction. On the other hand her sister is trapped within societal and familial expectations. One rejects societal control in a grievous way, the other a prisoner of it.
