“That’s why some stories are particularly important. They’re more than entertainment. They’re knowledge.”
This was such a cute book about a Lipan girl who has inherited the abilities of her matrilineal line and can raise ghosts from the dead—her specialty is animals, however, because raising human ghosts is something you should *never* *ever* do. I bet you can tell where the plot goes from there. 👻
I absolutely loved this book I thought the writing was brilliant, the worldbuilding was my favorite kind of worldbuilding in fantasy novels (a supernatural world that exists alongside and intertwined with our own modern world) and the philosophy was excellent. I also *loved* how this book was an ode to Dogs. 🤗🐶💕 Also three cheers for the ace rep! 🥳
I was a little sad that the last hundred pages was mostly plot-action as the stories that the author had been interweaving into the main plot every now and then had actually been my favorite part of the book but obviously Little Badger wasn’t trying to write a 600-page novel so. I get it. 😂
“…waking up a human ghost was like getting struck by lightning. Extremely unlikely but dangerous enough that precautions had to be respected.”
