So fitting that I finished this on International Women’s Day!
This epic historical novel follows a young woman, Frankie, who volunteers as a nurse in Vietnam to be closer to her brother, who is serving. The book takes us through her experiences there as well as the tumultuous years after she returns.
My first Kristen Hannah book—and what a journey it was. I admire her ability to write a really good story that completely sucks you in and makes the world around you drop away. I couldn’t put this book down— I stayed up too late every night this week so I could keep reading.
