Istyria book blog ~ B's world of enchanted books

Wow. So this turned out much better than I expected. has created the perfect creepy and mysterious atmosphere this book needed. I was hooked right away and it was almost impossible to put down.

My Last Kiss is about Cassidy. When she wakes up after her birthday party and sees her dead body next to her, she knows something went terribly wrong. Cassidy is trapped in the living world, mourning the loss of her body and her entire life and left with the suspicion that her dead wasn’t a suicide like everyone thinks. The only problem is, she can’t remember what. If she wants to find out the truth, she has to face her past and the decisions she made that led to her last kiss.

This was such a nice surprise. There was so much more to this book then I expected and I love when that happens! The story is told from Cassidy’s point of view, which made it really interesting. I didn’t expect to be able to connect to a main character that’s dead, but I did! I felt all the same things she felt. The anger, the frustration, the sadness, … And while Cassidy is looking for the truth about what happened, we get a few chapters in between that are memories from the days she can’t remember. So we get to know her and her friends more too! But that also means we don’t know any more than she does. Which makes this book a real nail-biter.

I was so engaged in this book that I was thinking about it even when I wasn’t reading! I just needed to know what happened. There were a few characters I didn’t trust right from the bat and I was kind of happy when I found out I was right in the end. I’m not going to say any names because it would spoil everything for you and it would ruin the mystery, which is the best part of this book.

My Last Kiss is a fantastic, intriguing, sad and heartbreaking book. I highly recommend it to everyone and I hope once you read it, you’ll love it as much as I did. This is a new favorite for me, without a doubt!
