Hands down the most terrifying and graphic novel I have ever read. The authors comes out and says what this book is actually about before you even read it - trauma and fascism. The metaphors are pretty strong and clear without explanation. But the explanation provides a sense of urgency - this book showcases the very real terror that faces humanity today and demands us to look it square in the face and do something about it.
Graphic: Body horror, Death, Gore, Misogyny, Racism, Rape, Sexual violence, Transphobia, Violence, Xenophobia, and Injury/Injury detail
Not for the faint of heart. But well worth the read if you can stomach it. The social commentary is critical to the book but even without it, it stands up as a legit scary horror book.
