Manifest Destiny, Vol 4: Sasquatch by Chris Dingess

4.0

A little bit of a stumble for this installment, but Dingess et al working at slightly less than their best is still miles better than other people working at top form.

I was a bit confused at first due to the time jumps between 1801 and 1804 because for once there wasn't a clear delineation between the various groups of characters, but after I fixed my brain with who was who everything fell into place.

As always, the tale zigs when I think it's going to zag, so that kept me interested. I often rail against two-page spreads which interrupt the flow of the story, but fortunately here it was kept to a single instance that does sort of suit the story.

While this is not as great as the previous three volumes of this excellent series, it's still far and away one of the best books going and I eagerly await more. As someone who doesn't normally go for this type of story, that's saying something.
