This book...oh, this book.
The lack of marching band books is actually a little bit depressing compared to the sheer number of football romances, so when I first saw this book, I was so excited.

I felt understood by this book because it was so marching band. It captured the heartaches and victory of being in band perfectly. There were so many quotes that I loved! And Anna reminded me of me because I write in my journal too to keep the shadows away. And Weston was so sweet, and I loved him and Anna so so so much.
I should've checked the table of contents. I knew something sad would happen but I didn't expect it to that degree. My heart hurt for them. And yes, I did cry--I don't cry over books but, this reminded me so much of If He Had Been With Me. That sinking feeling when I realized his chapter was blank was unlike any other.
The feeling of the title clicking too...
