What I like about Lauren Dane's romances is that she doesn't rely on that frustrating trope of miscommunication. Her characters are generally well adjusted and communicate well, the challenge to the relationship comes from learning to communicate together and/or outside influences.
The handful I've read are definitely formulaic, but it's a formula that works for me.
While her main characters (of the admittedly few in her vast collection that I've read) are typically white and hetero, she makes at least some effort to be inclusive of other races and sexual preferences in the character's friend groups.
