I absolutely loved this book. It was a very short and fast read, and throughout it you get to see our main character open up and grow confident in herself and her worthiness of being loved. The author really captured the essence of the child, my favorite line in the book was probably "We go to the butcher's for rashers and sausages and a horseshoe of black pudding, to the chemists where she asks for Aunt Acid,.....", the line made me grin. The writing was beautiful and really captured the lilting Irish speech patterns well.
