The Cry of the Icemark by Stuart Hill

5.0

The beginning was a little slow and I found it a little bit hard to get into at first but further in the book, it got a lot better. The wording and everything is old fashioned, Middle Age, sort of thing. It's what drew me into this book.

The Cry of the Icemark is about a young warrior princess soon to be Queen. Her father Reddrought is the king of the region of the Icemark.

This glorius novel is about over-coming stuggles in the face of battle, the sacrifice of friends, love, endearing relationships and over-coming the hard comings that face her, in the face of war as a 13year old she carries the fate of her country on her shoulders.

The great war of the Icemark all starts with the Polypontian Empire attacking the icemark to claim the land as thier own. In the first battle Thirrins father, Redrought, is killed in battle destroying the first wave of the Empires soldiers.

I enjoyed reading this book tremendously. I couldn't put the book down. The wording was terific. The details and the descriptions of the events happening in the book is what did it for me. I could picture ever scene happening. I could feelthe emotions of the charatcers as if the things happening in the book were happening to me.

I highly reccomend this to anyone who wants a really good read. I am sure you will enjoy this one!
