Did not finish book. Stopped at 77%.
Trauma bonding and desperateness painted as love.

I am sad about this book. It started out alright - albeit a bit cringe with Daniel calling Ali “Babe” right off the bat - but over all I was enjoying it, apart from the very intentional and constant implication that Ali is going to be raped - Whether it was by
Dan when he chased her into the house and sat on her which caused her to have a panic attack
, the
hoard of baddies in the supermarket  who attack and hunt them,
or just any of the other desperate, scary men they encountered on their journey.

Daniel, for the most part, was endearing and funny. Ali was traumatised and had the emotional maturity of a 12 year old. Finn was obsessive and angry.
Also, y’all have known each other for a week, calm down.

Chapter 36 is a play by play of Finn sexually assaulting Ali while Dan watches. She repeatedly says no, she tells him to stop and that she doesn’t want to do it, she turns her head away, she looks and calls to Dan for help. It’s made out to be some kind of “get out of your own head” thing?? Like therapy?? No thanks.
