I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
5.0

This book is honestly so amazing, I am shell shocked at how beautifully this book is written. The changes between perspectives is smooth but blatantly shows which character is speaking. The contrast between the two main characters, while meaning to highlight their differences, actually brings light to their similarities, especially as twins who are both struggling with death and life and art (also love). The story of the relationships between Jude and Noah and the rest of the world are heartbreaking yet comforting. Jandy Nelson did a spectacular job at painting the grief, brokenness, hope, and love of two siblings struggling to deal with who they are and how to handle the secrets and mistakes they've fought to keep locked inside for so long. There is so much hurt in this book but the author manages to show the beauty that can only come from suffering. The artisticness of the characters and the style of art they create, adds character to Jude and Noah as it shows how necessary art is to their inmost being, as well as drives the storyline and the motives of others. This book is so artistically made and I am truly in love with it!
