The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell

3.5 stars.

This was one of those books that drew me in because I’m a fan of the author and the premise was interesting. There was a bit of back and forth between “before” and “after,” which was a little confusing, and the ending was…a lot less climatic than I anticipated or wanted.

The best part about it was the relationships between the characters, especially the two mothers. They made it worth the read and engaging, gave you an emotional investment into what was going on.

All in all, it was a good book to start out my final month of 2021.
