The Jewel Robbery at the Grand Metropolitan - a Hercule Poirot Short Story (Hercule Poirot) by Agatha Christie

5.0

Enjoyable and well paced. It seems Poirot can’t escape crime even for a weekend. A chance encounter in a hotel lobby with a couple Hastings knows pulls Poirot into a case of a stolen necklace. The “how” this crime was accomplished is the most puzzling aspect, and when it is revealed it all seems so simple. If only to have Poirot’s little grey cells”. I enjoyed the friendship between Hastings and Poirot being highlighted in this story. I love the idea of Hastings treating Poirot to a relaxing weekend, and Poirot returning the favor when the weekend gets derailed by a case.
