Little Bosses Everywhere by Bridget Read

Great if you want to learn about the history of multi level marketing but with a bold claim of MLMs "shaping America" it falls flat.
The premise is not addressed head on until 75% of the book which is frustrating. The author teases us by saying Project 2025 sounds like MLM-speak but breezes over this point which is supposed to be the backbone of the whole book. What?
Some interesting tidbits:
- 1 in 13 people in the US have been sellers in MLMs
- in 2022 MLMs were a $40 BILLION dollar industry rivaling cannabis and pizza
- Most MLMs don't track customer sales, only retail sales, since their sellers are their true customers
- DJT was heavily influenced by his church's minister, the author of 'The Power of Positive Thinking' which may explain his trumpisms like "covid is all gonna go away one day"
- DJT's 2016 presidential campaign was significantly funded by Betsy DeVos, wife of the heir of Amway who he later appointed as Secretary of Education so she could further her agenda of using tax payer dollars towards private schools instead of public schools
Skip this book unless you want dry history, find a good podcast and read the antiMLM subreddit
