Batman: White Knight #1 by Matt Hollingsworth, Sean Murphy, Lee Loughridge

2.0

The content deserves one star, but the idea and the potential are just too good&interesting, I can't pretend I didn't like this on some level.

Jabs at "SJWs" defending psychopaths, the Joker being "cured" according to that doctor because he scored high on the IQ tests (wtaf?!) and had a cat scan (??? there's nothing wrong with the structure of his brain, lady, it's how it WORKS that's the problem. Does the writer even know what he's talking about?!), the same Joker claiming he can't be charged although he's ESCAPED PRISON (again) which is illegal in most countries and surely is in Gotham since Batman keeps going after criminals who manage to leave Arkham/the prison, and no one seems to have a problem with that except for Gordon, his sudden love for Gotham (lmao sure thing, Jan), people having a problem with Batman's "assault" on the Joker although it's apparently cured him + the entire city is utterly violent, traumatized, and dead set on getting ride of the villains (we've seen this in lots of issues) so why would they mind Batman doing his job AND eliminating the craziest criminal in town in a non-lethal way?, the BatFam not noticing Alfred's disappearance for a whole month... this story has a very fascinating concept but, boy, is it full of bullshit! The cherry on top was that claim that the Joker was never arrested for more than armed robbery. Did the artist EVER read a Batman comic? The Joker has never been shy about his plans for Gotham, he's well-known for his violent murders and torture sessions, and the current canon is about THE JOKER AND THE RIDDLER HAVING A VILLAINS CIVIL WAR!! How the fuck has that guy never been arrested for more than armed robbery? And, if true, why the fuck has he been sent to Arkham Asylum?! "Oh you robbed a bank? Let us send you to that asylum that makes people even crazier than they were before, sounds like a fair decision that can't backfire :D". Ugh. I'm gonna read the next issue because I'm really interested in a story that explicitly talks about the Joker's love and attraction for Batman, but the author really, really need to get his shit together.
