Such a tragic story and yet full of love. The Velveteen Rabbit wanted to become real and when he did he was full of joy. The boy that had him as toy was always by his side and the book gave the message that everything can become real if one says it's real. And also that the more you love your stuff the more you will use it and shabbiness isn't bad. The story was great and emotional, but I myself do it the other way around; If I don't like something it becomes shabby, not 'cause I used it often, but 'cause I dislike it and don't take care of it. When I like something I use it often yes, but I still take great care that it doesn't get shabby. Story was great, but I disagree with the second message behind this short book.

It read itself a bit like Toy Story and I think everyone who likes that film will like this book too. Great story, recommended for all ages.
