CHASER is book three in the Dive Bar series. It's a complete standalone though there's recurring characters.
Eric is part owner of the bar and a serious player. He has a few misgivings about his wandering eye though and is thinking about maybe finding a girlfriend when Jean walks into his bar (no joke). For Eric, it's lust at first sight...until he realizes that Jean is pregnant!
So for the most part, romance has a basicality (is that a word?) to it, a general outline that a story follows: boy meets girl, boy is a manwh@re, girl captures boy's heart, they live happily ever after. And I like this predictability, obviously right, since I LOVE reading about LOVE! But every once in awhile I come across a character that just shocks the hell outta me and Eric did just that!! How does a thirty year old man go through life so incredibly DENSE when it comes to women? LOL!
Honestly, in the beginning, I didn't think I'd like him but the little stinker really grew on me! Oh my goodness, Eric's thought process literally had me laughing out loud. I loved the crazy back and forth between characters, the crystal clear journey that has Eric going from immature jerk to loving and thoughtful boyfriend and surprisingly, I enjoyed reading it completely from Eric's POV. Overall, this was a light, totally enjoyable read. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
