Dark Celebration
by Christine Feehan
This was a Christmas celebration story featuring cameos by many of the previous couples and characters in the Dark Carpathian series. Also featured where two couples who “found” their lifemates in this story, so we can expect their stories to come soon. One couple was Dimitri/Skylar and the other one was Manolito/MaryAnn. There was also the promise of many future Carpathian babies to come as a lot of heroines were expecting.
I enjoyed reading about all the couples and seeing where their lives are after their books ended. I enjoyed seeing everyone interact with each other and form friendships; even though the species are becoming extinct, they truly are a family. It are these romance stories which feature the strong element of family, that touch my heart the most.
Rated: 4.75/5.0—Overall, a fun introduction to the Christmas/winter season! I loved how this book featured a lot of lighthearted moments and humor; it is something that is lacking in the series as the plot lines are typically pretty heavy and dark. My favorite thing from this book was the storyline of Mikhail invoking his father-in-law rights and having Gregori play Santa Clause for the children at the celebration party; everyone’s reactions to that was the best. There were a lot of “flies” on the wall during that scene!
