As a big fan of The Firm, I excitedly brought this book on vacation, eager to see what trouble Mitch and Abby might find themselves in. Turns out, nothing I found believable or interesting. The writing is so lifeless, it reads like a weekly grocery list where nothing new is ever added. No character development, no vivid descriptions of exciting locales, awkward phrasing and an unbelievable amount of shallow, misogynistic observations. I finished it with the hope that there would be some fabulous plot twist that would tie it all together. Nope. YAWN. This truly felt like an author phoning it in to get a paycheck. Do better, Mr, Grisham.
