Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
lighthearted
relaxing
medium-paced
- Loveable characters? It's complicated
- Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated
- Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I wanted a lighter book in between my other reads. For that purpose, it was okay. Normally, it's not my genre – if it's about rich families, then please only in a historical context ;).
I found the beginning almost unbearable (that attitude of the ultra-rich).
From the middle onward, I kind of got used to it, and it became more enjoyable to read. I didn't find it funny though.
What I especially appreciate is that the insights into Southeast Asian/Chinese high society are probably quite authentic, thanks to the author's biography.
