Okay, okay, okay everyone was correct, this is without a doubt the BEST book in the "If Shakespeare was an Auntie" series, and now my favorite Nisha Sharma book.
I loved her crafting of Veera and Deepak, despite my dislike of the billionaire trope I ended up falling deeply in love with these characters. Veera's estrangement from her father and all the implications involved within is something I feel is not seen often in romance, if at all, and speaking as someone who has experienced the issue, the way her emotions are written in regards to her father feel so real and authentic. Her fear, her anger, her trauma, were all written with such care, and I really liked the continuity of seeing the ways in which her relationship with her father influenced her other relationships. Veera was a character who readers are told is strong and smart, and then continues to demonstrate strength and intelligence page after page of her story.
And I loved how Deepak was written as a pairing to her tenacity, he never overshadows or overly nurtures her, I feel far too many Strong Women romances show "see? she just needed a shoulder to cry on", and while Deepak was that at times, he also encouraged her and helped her succeed on the path she wanted to be on. I also really enjoyed how Deepak was his own character, with his own struggles to balance, instead of simply being a MMC to prop up the FMC.
Plotwise, I absolutely LOVED the third act, I feel like the conflict that happened made complete sense for where the characters were on their journey, and it was so cathartic to see characters getting the ending they deserved. It was also so fun to see the prior couples make appearances throughout this story, and Veera's conversation about feeling left behind by Kareena and Bobbi was so heartbreakingly real.
All in all, this book definitely turned me around on Nisha Sharma, the only small thing I wasn't a fan of was some of the smut scenes but it was easy enough for me to tune those out LOL; it's devastating that this series is over but I'm excited to see what she writes next!
