I’m a bit conflicted about this book. It has been interesting enough to discuss with the book club I’ve been reading it for, it raised some interesting points. But overall the characters were a bit two-dimensional and in the end unconvincing in their roles, and the picture-perfect creepy neighborhood didn’t even hide anything horrific - just a bunch of shallow people who acted before they took a second to think about what they’re doing.
