Fugitive Telemetry
by Martha Wells
Fugitive Telemetry is the sixth book in Martha Wells's The Murderbot Diaries series. I highly recommend reading this series in order as it provides helpful background information as well as overarching storylines and character development. This book is told entirely from Murderbot's first person perspective.
Another amazing Murderbot adventure! In this installment of the series, Murderbot is (reluctantly) tasked with helping solve a human murder on Preservation Alliance's station. Unfortunately, this means it must voluntarily speak to humans. This was obviously a great time. Watching Murderbot's character evolve as it interacts with different and new characters is always unintentionally hilarious. We learn more about what it's life is like under the guardianship of Dr. Mensah, and of course our favourite Ratthi and Dr. Gurathin make an appearance to help Murderbot. As with the other books, I think (despite a lot of the technical things Murderbot does throughout it's day) it was easy to follow. This was more of a novella, but Martha packs a ton into a shorter number of pages! I found myself hooked from chapter one to the very end.
If sci-fi isn't usually your jam, I still recommend this series. I think Murderbot is a character that will appeal to wide audiences, and I can't wait to catch up with it for it's next adventure.
