Portrait of a Scotsman by Evie Dunmore

4.0

Picked it up for the blatant hades/Persephone retelling and stayed for the neurodivergent heroine and socialism. There were points in the story where I just wanted to knock their heads together. The characters are complex and interesting. Hattie can do your head in a little, but she’s a product of her time and she’s learning.
