Shade's Lady by Joanna Wylde

5.0

Mandy McBride works at a bar and her looks and her attire is how she earns her tips. Shade is a man who commands attention and he will grab yours. He tells it like it is and pulls no punches. He’s not a man that considers anyone’s feelings.

If you’re a person that doesn’t like to read a story written in the first person or alternating persons don’t let that stop you from experiencing this book. It’s a story with emotion. You have to feel sorry for Mandy and her family, which shows the amount of work that this author has put into her story. Then she puts Shade in Mandy’s path. He’s all alpha who makes no excuses. It was this story that solidified my resolve to go back and read all the books that I have missed. And you don’t need to read the other stories in order to enjoy Shade’s tale – could be considered a standalone.

The hardest thing I had with this story was realizing that this was a novella. None of the scenes seemed chopped or rushed in order to keep the story short. I absolutely loved the ending. It’s happy but I didn’t feel as if it was an ending. Almost like the adventure was just beginning. And I’m looking forward to the ride.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
