Dirt Town by Hayley Scrivenor

fast-paced

4.0

Durton, a fictional Australian rural town where a young girl doesn't make it back home from school one hot summer's day.

Durton, a small community where everyone knows everyone and news travels fast.

Durton, a town where many hold secrets and regrets and might not know each other as well as they think.

Durton, a perfect backdrop for a crime novel.

I  can't say much more without spoiling it. But, I did guess mid way who was involved in Esther's disappearance and death so I didn't experience that shock 😱 moment where I forget to breathe for a few seconds. However, I was drawn to Durton, I could feel the heat and dust in my pores. The characters were well developed and this, with the allure of Durton kept me engaged.

Great debut novel from Hayley Scrivenor and an entertaining, fast paced summer read for me  🙂
