The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

This is an amazing story of a boy living in poverty and a terrible time of famine in Malawi. He yearns to go to school and to help his people. His drive along with the help of good people opens a way to study on his own. His curiosity and determination pushes him to develop a windmill to generate electricity. There is a very real look at life in his town told as he sees it. Captivating for me who knows such different lifestyle. I was not prepared for the very sad part of this book. Seeing it through his eyes made it so real. This book gives me a sense of how we are all different and yet so very much the same in ways that matter.
