a story centered around the women divers of Jeju Island off the coast of South Korea, a segment of people I knew nothing about prior to reading this book but I really enjoyed all the descriptions of the diving. 

this probably isn't much of a spoiler, but

the stubbornness of the main character and her refusal to see things from any perspectives other than her own was heartbreaking and frustrating.
