I liked the thought behind this read. The magical themes, friends to enemies, etc. However, I struggled with the MC POV, as she didn’t seem like a likable character through most of the book. The challenges also seemed to dissolve rather easily, giving a less than realistic quality. The magical themes were well done, as well as the friendship between Ellie and Lea.
