You'll Be the Death of Me
by Karen M. McManus
Cal, Ivy, and Mateo, besties in middle school, have drifted apart in high school. Now during senior year, they spontaneously decide to skip school together on a poorly fated day; a day that uncovers past secrets, and a deadly crime ring. This is classic McManus, a quick read told from multiple points of view with tropey teen characters and sudden plot twists (though if you have read her before, not totally unexpected). McManus knows her audience and writes to it well, but I wouldn't mind seeing her branch out to something new once in a while.
