this is probably the most interesting but also dull classic i've ever read. like the plots great but the delivery felt a little too watered down with little details that didn't matter as much as the events taking place.
as an audiobook it falls a little flatter on the reveals that maybe would be more dramatic if i read the book.
that being said, i'd imagine if i read this when it came out this would've scandalous. however, she really shouldn't have married someone literally 20 years older than her that was also her employer?!? cmon girly you could do so much better (but also i'm so glad she refused what i think was her cousin's marriage proposal).
i wish there was more about the mad wife in the attic character, considering how recognisable she is in classic literature. like she's there but she's not the same time?
regardless, i think this is definitely iconic and a must read/listen for everyone.
