I’ve become so obsessed with these dark gothic themed stories surrounding water themes. I think back to ‘the house of salt and sorrows’. Very beautiful in the way things are described and depicted however that ends up also being the downfall of this book. A lot of the plot fell flat for me. Everyone other than our FMC was flat and lifeless. Sadly this includes the MMC. The romance between the two feels sudden and with no true depth to the MMC’s character/background it feels out of place.
I enjoyed this book. Finished it in one day. It’s an easy and beautifully set story. I just would’ve liked more depth to the main characters.
