I think it's important to know going into this book that we just don't have a lot of information about this woman, so the biography is going to be an exercise in making educated guesses based on a handful of writings, documentation about where she was at any given time, and basic knowledge about the lives of noblewomen in fifteenth century England. You won't get a good idea of what Elizabeth of York was like as a person from this book because we simply have no way of knowing. I found the information about what we know and what we can surmise pretty interesting; Licence is a good writer and to her credit she steers clear of the wishful romanticization so often offered by Alison Weir. But if you want to know about Elizabeth's personality and relationships, I fear you're doomed to disappointment.
