My Review:
So I do think this is one of the better books of the series that I have read so far. But man these books just feel so dark to me. I am not sure if its just me though or if its an element of what the author has been showing in this books, but these books will definitely push many buttons. I could never binge these books if I am being honest.
The Sacrifice is a story of revenge, forced marriage and a secret society in a very dark world. I found this book to be super fascinating, I loved the plot of the story. Now what some readers may have difficulty with will be the actual romance in this one. The way that the hero does treat the heroine will really push many boundaries. There is humiliation kink, BDSM play and some other factors in the relationship. But their dynamic was super fascinating. The heroine has a backbone and I loved her strength. Even though she pushes the boundaries at times, she also seems to know when not to push her husband too far. I loved their moments of openness and honesty. And of course once love and affection enters their relationship then it was pure GOLD and I couldn't put it down. I absolutely LOVED the third act in this book. We get so many reveals to the plot of what has been slowly building in the story. And wow the reveals of the villains even shocked me and I thought I knew everything...but nope the author really digs deep here on certain aspects.
Overall I found Sacrifice to be a dark and twisted romance that delivered all the way. This author pushed the boundaries but kept me compelled and addicted. And with the hints for future books I can't wait to explore the rest of the series!!!
