The Philosophy Book: Big Ideas Simply Explained by D.K. Publishing

5.0

I absolutely loved this book. I've had it for years now dipping in and out of it, reading about the philosophers that interested me at the time. I even used this book at uni, as the book provides such great summaries of the philosopher's main arguments, which was really useful to get the gist of what they were saying, before reading the main text.

Now, I'm out of uni so I decided to read the book cover to cover, which was so much fun as the individual summaries are brief and come with really cool graphics. Also, some of the philosophers' arguments are shown in flow diagrams, which makes them so easy to understand! That was also really cool to see as when I was studying, I would make flow diagrams of the arguments I was learning about or make them for my own essays. Additionally, a few of the philosophers also have a handy 'key works' section, which lets you know about their most famous books.

Honestly, I can't recommend this book enough, whether you're studying philosophy at uni or just interested in it. I loved the format of this book so much that I will be checking out other books in this series soon!
