In a Jam by Kate Canterbary
5.0

Shay Zucconi needed a change, and it came in an unexpected inheritance of her step-grandmother's quirky farm where she lived for a couple of years and met Noah back in high school. They developed a friendship that fizzled out through the years. The stipulations of Shay's inheritance requires her to be married, so she and Noah get into an agreement to marry and both get something out of the land.

In A Jam was one of the best books I have read in 2022. It has a little bit of everything that works for me in books, romance, comedy, swoony heroes, a relatable heroine, and awesome side characters. In fact, this was one of the funniest books I have read, thanks to a lovely kid named Gennie. She has the worst potty mouth, totally not age-appropriate, but she was such a hoot.

After reading the book, I had an opportunity to listen to the audio version and was so excited by this. Jason Clarke narrated Noah and Kit Swann narrated Shay. I absolutely admire both of their work and it was just so much fun to have this book come to life in audio. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall just to see how the narrators reacted to Gennie's awesome language.
