Rabbit & Robot: The Sleepover by Cece Bell

4.0

Rabbit and Robot are having a sleepover, and Rabbit is determined that they stick to the list of things to do. However, hilarity ensues when things do not go as planned. Though Rabbit hasn't exactly learned to ease up by the end of the book, the two characters do have fun even as Rabbit gets a remote stuck in his ear, Robot takes apart his table, Rabbit nearly goes deaf, and Robot forgets his pajamas. The illustrations are charming, the story is divided into four short chapters to help early readers, and the vocabulary is suitable to readers who are almost independent readers. I especially liked when a printout slowly comes out of Robot, allowing early readers to guess along with Rabbit what it will say using sense-making strategies.
