The Things We Leave Unfinished
by Rebecca Yarros
At first, I wasn't really into the book because I don't like when romance authors lean too hard into the love/lust-at-first sight thing. I also don't really like this type of patriotic or heroistic Western war narrative because I believe they exist, whether intentionally or not, to erase the corruption and bigotry embedded into Western political rule. However, I'm a sucker for enemies-to-lovers AND I really enjoyed the twist/reveal at the end of the book.
At the end of the day, this is a perfectly fair middle-of-the-road romance, but it didn't really align with my tastes.
