Into the Pit by Scott Cawthon, Elley Cooper

3.0

As a fnaf fan, I think my favourite of the 3 main stories in this has to be ‘Into The Pit’. I love the idea of an old battered pizzeria hiding the old location of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, and I love that an old ball pit is the only thing separating the future from the 80s. Think this one was more akin to the games/first novel.

To Be Beautiful wasn’t a favourite, but I loved the aspect of an animatronic doing major surgery after lulling a child to sleep. I don’t like how poor Sarah is constantly described as ugly/describes herself as ugly. That kinda makes me sad.

And Count The Ways was just sad. We didn’t really need Millie to climb into a withered Freddie animatronic and be killed to feel sad for her - I think the abandonment from her parents, and the sadness she feels from finding somebody at school that was similar to her, to find out he’s not interested in her is heart-wrenching enough. And her grandpa is so so so cute - wish she had been nicer to him.

Epilogue is a good setup for more.
