I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell by Tucker Max
3.0
Who is Tucker Max? An egotistical, rich, spoiled bully who obviously was raised without an ounce of morality. What a prick! I hope he made enough money from this book to afford professional help for his Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
I knew before reading this book it would be crude. I enjoy crude humor but Tucker's complete disregard to humanity is what made this book so displeasing. Here is a summary of the book:
Fucking girls....
Drinking...
Fucking girls...
Vomiting....
Fucking girls...
Making fun of fat chicks...
Fucking girls...
These topics do not dissuades me from reading. It's the tone and attitude throughout the book that infuriates me.
What I find severely flawed in this book is his writing. Let's face it, he is just some frat boy who had some luck with a blog that eventually landed him a book deal. He is NOT a creative writer. This is one of the reasons I felt his stories fell short.
So why did I give this book 3 stars and not 1? Perhaps it's because he stirred such an emotional response out of me. Or maybe because it felt like I was watching the National Geographic channel discovering a new species. Regardless the reasons, any literature that can stir such emotions, even negative ones, deserves something.
