A Curious Woman by Jess Lea

3.0

the whodunnit aspect got me to finish this book. i wanted to know who the killer was, so i kept going. the story was well done and i found some moments funny, but mostly it was just appalling how shitty everyone was—especially the men. if you want a book to reinforce your misandry, this one will do the trick, and there were too many zany/unhinged women for me to properly keep them separate in my mind in the beginning.

the only likable character was the one who is murdered early on. i was disappointed that the mcs never talk about their relationship until.... the epilogue?

that being said, i still liked it because i like mystery and the writing felt smooth enough to carry the story along (except for a certain monologue at the end when i wished for nothing but that character to just shut up as he recapped the entire mystery)
