Review for Savior & Luca

♾️/5

You know those kinds of books that leave you a mess? This is one off them. Not because the plot is something that I never read before, but because the way it was written! It has some very dark themes. And told the characters story in such a respectful way….
Penny (decker sister from book 2) was a sex slave for Torian (book 3 and 6) father. She has endured so much pain! But she did what she needed to do to survive. She is strong, resilient, a warrior.
Luca save her from a bullet, from a life of slavery, from herself… And reading their story, their love… Reading about a broken woman getting her life back together. Her struggle to do so… And his patience, his love, his devotion… God!
It’s such a beautiful story. Eden did such a good job respecting them. It’s not easy writing about abuse this sever. And most of the authors don’t write their recovery, their struggle with much depth. And usually they bring the romance and spice really fast. Like is easy to have sex again, to be touched again…
And Eden did an amazing job writing Penny struggles, her inner fight of being disgusted by herself for wanting Luca, and wanting intimacy.
And Luca’s inner fight, being racked either way guilt by wanting her, because he knows and respects her so much…
This book… I don’t even have words…
When you’ve been through trauma and abuse, you get really good at reading people around you, their mood. You get really good at trusting your instinct towards people without having actual proof. And the trust that Luca had in Penny when is world could be falling apart, and put his own life at risk… He believed and trust her despite everything. And that level of understanding and trust from a partner… I have no words.
To finish I will tell you this: I have read a lot of books with abuse and sex slavery, and rape, but this one was the most beautiful done, the most respectful of the characters and their story.
Happy Readings
