Was this a groundbreaking piece of literature? No. Was this book incredibly cringe at times? Yes. Was it written by a Mormon who thinks overusing the word “fuck” is the edgiest thing? Also yes.
I loved it. I can’t wait for more. I’ve been chasing the high of a fantasy gripping me like Twilight did since I was 13. This is it. Don’t go into this thinking it’s some sort of book that’s going to be a Pulitzer Prize winner or you have to read it because TikTok told you to. If you weren’t around for Twilight’s peak, you won’t like it. But holy shit the choke hold this thing had on me for the last week. So good.
