Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Wow, I wasn’t expecting this series to start off so good but I was enthralled from the very beginning of book one! Darrow, part of the “working class” of a classist society is set to die shortly after his wife’s death. He instead is taken and secretly changed from a Red to a Gold to fulfill his late wife’s wish of an uprising. Parts of the story had Darrow becoming the very thing he sought to destroy but still managed to keep an eye on his end goal.

“Man cannot be freed by the same injustice that enslaved it.”
