Catastrophe Queen by Emma Hart

4.0

I was kindly sent a copy of this book for review from Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Being a walking catastrophe is all fun & games until you're nearly run over by your soon-to-be gorgeous boss and walk off with you underwear on display...

Mallory's name literally means 'unfortunate' and her friend has labelled her a 'catastrophe queen'. Living back at home after a fire at her apartment building, she's determined to find a new job so she can move back out asap - her family is crazy annoying and she's walked in on her parents having sex one too many times. On her way home from a job interview at Reid's Real Estate, she's nearly run over by a gorgeous man, who just happens to see her underwear. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, it turns out he's her new boss, Cameron Reid. While Mallory may be a whiz at her new job, she's also very prone to accidents, like tripping over thin air and spilling coffee. But Cameron finds her endearing, calling her 'Hurricane Mallory', and like that the sparks begin to ignite. But is it really a good idea to get involved with your boss? Especially is you're a walking catastrophe like Mallory....

Hi, my name's Victoria and I LOVE Emma Hart's books! But hey, you knew that already, because I've read and reviewed a tonne of her books. And like the others, Catastrophe Queen was such a fun and cute read, with us the right amount of comedy, romance and steam.

Emma has a really great talent for pulling you into a character's world within the first quarter page and hooking you instantly. Mallory was just like that and I just had to keep reading, even if it meant no sleep - you know it's a good book if sleep at 2am isn't your top priority. Sleep is for the weak and I needed to discover Mallory and Cameron's story!

Mallory and Cameron's relationship was so fun to read and watch develop, especially since the build-up is most of the book - sure, the initial time-frame is short, but these two aren't jumping into bed together two days after meeting. Their relationship is fun and cute, filled with lots of flirting and banter, which was fun to follow - the perfect rom-com read.

Contemporary romance and rom-com fans, look no further for your next read! You're sure to fall in love (or trip if you're Mallory) with Cameron and Mallory's story and finish the entire thing in one sitting. If you're new to Emma's books, this is a fantastic place to start - I'm sure you'll be hooked on her writing and soon fall down the Emma Hart rabbit hole (which I cannot recommend enough!).
