This is story of path breaking of society , where people run for beauty and not for upbringing and good attitude towards life. Same is the story of female protagonist who is very beautiful name is Anupama, story from Rags to riches and then a tragic heroine. Dr.anand met a girl and fall in love but she belongs to poor family after she got married to rich family . Anand decide to go to England for further studies but Anupama has to be there for 3 more months before she left for England for some family ritual.
But something went wrong and certain patch of vitiligo/leukoderma appear on her feet and Anand mother got a chance to disrespect and she left the house and went to Mumbai.She moved to Bombay where she finds success,respect & true friendship.But this path of her journey was not easy too.She is sexually harassed by someone whom she considered her elder brother. .. She carried away with life as she was strong women but now she doesn't have love for anyone left in her she want to serve the community and she is doing that beautifully . Even after Vasant try to pursue her to be his wife she refused and said they will remain friends but not and bond to relationship. Even after Anand came back to her she refused to go with him. Even when her step mother ask for help she did but with no feelings towards them out of duty not out of love.
Mahasweta is the name of character from kannada play , the women hardships from the back in history. And she is alter ego of protagonist Anupama , she linked herself to the story and show that society just appeared to be good but doesn't treat people equally
