The Umbra King
by Jamie Applegate Hunter
I went through this one pretty fast, so I'd say I liked the story :)
The world-building was great, and I really enjoyed how everything was conceived, the premise, the society. I always enjoy an enemies-to-lovers trope, don't get me wrong, but maybe this one was a bit too fast-paced for me.
And, one thing I really really didn't like was some of the language used. Not meaning to sound like a prude, but I hate using the word *ussy and *um, especially in novels mostly written for women. Maybe that's just my pet peeve, but it really ruins it a bit for me.
Still, I am an overall fan and I'm going straight to book number 2 to see how everything wraps up.
