The King in Yellow by Robert W. Chambers
5.0

What a collection of stories! The brilliance of eeriness this book upholds is amazing- where seemingly regular settings slowly spiral out of control. Makes one overly curious as to what this play might be like - 'The King in Yellow', a fictional piece referred to in many of the stories, one which possess this peculiar quality of driving anyone mad upon reading it's second act.

Upon finishing the book and wishing to know more about it, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this book had inspired popular writers like Lovecraft and that shows like 'True Detective' has multiple references to certain aspects of the supernatural borrowed from here. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a classic crazy read!
