Ghost
by Kat Blackthorne
I picked this up as the author is attending RTD this year, and I wanted to know if I should preorder for it. Unfortunately, it's not a love connection here.
I expected something different from this, and I should have read the synopsis specifically rather than the brief description on facebook. That part is on me, though!
Onto the story itself. I loved that this was set during Halloween and that there was a festival of sorts every night during the month. I wanted more of those nights and much more descriptions when it came to it. It focused highly on Blythe and her feelings of being watched and her wanting to explore that.
It's all fine and dandy, but she was introduced as such a weak and scared woman that it felt like a switch was flipped. It could be that she stopped caring about being alive and just wanted to live?
Anyways, this is a very non reverse harem, reverse harem. You have these 3 men interested in her, and even 2 of those have had relations before. Yet, Ames, the main man in this book, acted like it was the worst thing to share Blythe. I'm not expecting them all to want to share at the same time or anything but all the RH's I have read didn't have any of the men be so hostile at the thought of mere flirting.
It started off so strong and it's a slow burn (100% fine with) but I was losing interest at 50% and it just dwindled. The main focus was Blythe being followed and the men getting excited at a hunt for said man but it kind of shifted in tone once all of them declared they were interested in Blythe. What really lost me was "dicked down" and "demon daddy".
I wanted so much more from this.
